Who are we?

The Hastings Academies Trust was formed in 2011 to sponsor two secondary academies in Hastings and St Leonards.

The Trust’s sponsors are:

  • The University of Brighton:
experts in education with a learning centre in the heart of the town.
  • BT:
one of the world’s leading communication providers.
  • East Sussex County Council:
who started the project and provided much of the funding for the new buildings at the secondary academies.

Please note, from 1 July 2016 East Sussex County Council will no longer be co-sponsor of the trust.

The Hastings Academy and The St Leonards Academy have been in operation since September 2011. These are now innovative new schools with 21st century facilities, skilled staff and exciting new ways of teaching to ensure that every student achieves their very best.

Dudley Infant Academy, West St Leonards Academy and The Baird Primary Academy joined the Trust during the 2013-14 year. Churchwood Primary Academy, Hollington Primary Academy and Robsack Wood Primary Academy then joined in September 2014, with Silverdale Primary Academy being the most recent to join the Trust in April 2015. We are delighted to welcome them to our family of schools.
