Finance Assistant (University of Brighton Academies Trust)

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance administrator to join the University of Brighton Academies Trust Finance Team. The Finance team supports two Trusts (Hastings Academies Trust and The University of Brighton Academies Trust.  The key part of this role is to review and analyse information/data from Sage 200, and ensure that all reconciliations are accurate and complete.

The work will be varied and consist of providing financial information, creating and maintaining all sales, purchase and balance sheet ledgers as well as liaising with other academies re queries.

You will support other team members in preparing the weekly banking, petty cash and staff expenses as well as managing the payment runs for BACS transfers.

Candidates will need experience of working in a high volume accountancy or financial environment ideally with a strong working knowledge of Sage 200.  They will need to work to a high degree of accuracy and have attention to detail. They must also have a flexible attitude to work and a strong commitment to confidentiality, as well as excellent communications, interpersonal and organisational skills. Can you provide the skills, knowledge and experience we are looking for?

We have a vacancy for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant who has a strong understanding of working in lower KS2. The role will be one afternoon of PPA cover with possible flexible, additional hours in the future.

We require someone who:

– has a strong track record of working with children in an enthusiastic and positive manner so they can achieve the very best outcomes;

– is punctual and reliable;

– understands age-related expectations in KS2;

– has the drive that every child will succeed.

An understanding of how children learn and make progress is essential as well as an ability to make learning exciting. Professional development, support and training will also be available.

Bursar

Location: Churchwood Primary Academy

We are looking for an outstanding candidate to manage the financial functions of our academy as our new bursar. The successful candidate will be someone who can work at a strategic level but is equally happy to get involved in the day to day work undertaken by the admin team.

The Bursar will work closely with the Principal to achieve the best possible outcomes for our children and to ensure that we secure ‘best value’ from our available resources.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their experience in a financial role and provide evidence of their knowledge of school finance and accounting procedures.

We are looking for someone with experience of word processing, spreadsheets and computer based accounting procedures, budget monitoring and preparing financial reports. Knowledge of Sage Accounting Software is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

The role is extremely varied and would suit someone who is able to work on their own initiative and is keen to develop their knowledge and experience of school business management.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a similar role preferably in a school environment and would ideally have experience of working with SIMs.

Working 20 hours over three/four days (days/times to be agreed).

Term Time only with an additional 15 days to be worked during the summer and Easter holidays.
